4Links at the Farnborough International Airshow 2012
4Links was an exhibitor at the Farnborough International Airshow from 9th-15th July 2012, where we shared a stand with five other members of the UKspace SME Forum within the Space Zone.
The Space Zone brought together the UK, European, Russian and Italian Space Agencies, ADS and UKspace representing the UK space industry, Government initiatives such as ISIC and the Satellite Applications Catapult programme, and many individual companies. Unlike the other exhibit halls, the Space Zone opened on the weekend of 14th and 15th July for viewing by the general public.
On the 4Links stand, we demonstrated our range of rack-mounted SpaceWire test equipment, as well as a prototyping board that we use to support the provision of SpaceWire IP. We also showed graphical software that can visualise and animate recordings of SpaceWire traffic made by our Multi-Link SpaceWire Recorder.
During the week, we were visited by the UK Minister of State for Universities and Science, the Rt Hon David Willetts MP, by several other members of the Parliamentary Space Committee, by Prof Dr Volker Liebig (ESA Director of Earth Observation and Head of ESRIN), and by senior people from the UK Space Agency, the Technology Strategy Board, and the Satellite Applications Catapult programme.
Of course, we also talked with many representatives of space-related companies from around the world, as well as university students, schoolchildren and space enthusiasts on the "Futures Day" and public days of the Show.
Here, Paul Walker, founder of 4Links, meets Prof Dr Volker Liebig.
Paul also had a lively conversation with Philip Lee, the MP for Bracknell and a member of the UK Parliamentary Space Committee.
